Wade through a lifetime of Neopets profiles, Reddit DM's and the perverted underworld of late-2000's hacker chatrooms to install afterglow.exe - a critical examination into the dark web of human longing and digital voyeurism told through the eyes of the online generation.
Inspired by prolific performance artists including Valie Export, Ana Mendieta and Marina Abramovic, the work is simultaneously a presentation of research, a dance party, the inner workings of a twenty-something’s bedroom and the compounded guts of a cracked and overheating iPhone 8. Inspired by the artist's own life, the work invites audiences to experience in real-time what it means to have a woman’s body in contemporary society.
